Only single player game I've been this addicted to

Submitted by tvoyles on Mon, 02/25/2008 - 11:21pm.

I kind of skipped the first Half Life game's single player. Actually I went straight to playing mods online for that game (favorites being Counterstrike, Sven Co-op, and several others). I have played Half Life 2 all the way from the original game to episode one to episode two, (episode three due in late fall '08) and I feel like I did it against my will. I literally could not turn the game off, no matter how bad I wanted to. I have an incredibly hard time finishing any single player games, much less getting 1/4 of the way through them, but this game is f'ing captivating. It's half FPS, half movie, half puzzle game, and half brilliant. I promise I will go back and beat Half Life 1 single player and submit a new comment when I'm done.

Interesting

I have the original, and am somewhere towards the end, I think. I got really into it and played it alot until I got where I did and then, you know, shit starts goin' on. I've been meaning to go back and finish it and check out the other episodes, though. Before I started playing the second one I got a copy of the first and played the single player straight through. They're very similar to one another, but the second one makes an amazing number of improvements, especially for an fpser, which usually are lacking in creativity.
